Gorontalo – The Gorontalo Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) held its 5th Provincial Conference (Muprov V) under the theme “United and Collaborating to Build a Resilient and Inclusive Business Ecosystem in Gorontalo” at the Aston Hotel in Gorontalo on Monday (Sept. 21, 2026).

During the conference, Andi Rahmatillah was elected Chairman of the Gorontalo Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the 2026–2031 term after securing more votes than Fauzan Fadel Muhammad.

Deputy Coordinating Chairman for Legal and Human Rights Affairs and Infrastructure of Kadin Indonesia, M. Azis Syamsuddin, who attended the event representing Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie, said differences in choices during the provincial conference were part of the organization’s dynamics. However, he hoped such differences would not lead to disputes that could disrupt the organization’s operations after the election process had concluded.

Azis emphasized that Kadin’s primary objective is not merely about organizational leadership, but rather about how the organization can fulfill its role as a partner to the government and contribute to driving regional economic growth.

“I hope this provincial conference prioritizes togetherness, because its main purpose is to elect a chairman. Whoever is elected must therefore embrace all board members and members,” Azis said.

Meanwhile, newly elected Chairman of the Gorontalo Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the 2026–2031 term, Andi Rahmatillah, said he was ready to carry out the mandate and serve the community, particularly MSMEs and other small businesses.

“God willing, I will carry out this mandate properly and with full responsibility, with the support and backing of all fellow board members,” Andi said.

Meanwhile, Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail said Kadin is an organization that the regional government greatly needs to help advance development in Gorontalo Province.

“When we work in Jakarta to seek funding opportunities for Gorontalo, our channel is through ministries. But there is another channel the business sector that we need to further open, and that is where the role of the Chairman of the Gorontalo Provincial Kadin comes in,” Gusnar said.

He also said Kadin serves as a bridge that can provide Gorontalo with access to the national business community.

According to Gusnar, Kadin can assist the government in promoting the region’s various potentials to investors and business players from outside Gorontalo.

“For me, Kadin serves as a bridge between the Gorontalo Provincial Government and the central government, while also promoting the potential of Gorontalo Province to private-sector players outside the province,” he explained.

Also attending the event were Kadin Indonesia Deputy Chairman for Organizational Affairs Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko, Deputy Chairman for Membership Affairs Widiyanto Saputro, and Deputy Chairman for Regional Autonomy Affairs Sarman Simanjorang.
