Arsjad Rasjid to Resume His Duties as Chairman of Kadin Indonesia After Temporary Inactivity

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) officially announced Arsjad Rasjid to return to active duty as Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for the 2021-2026 period, effective from 21 March 2024. Arsjad Rasjid's active presence was carried out after being temporarily absent since 27 September 2023 to assume the role as head of the winning team of one of the presidential candidate pairs in the 2024 elections.

Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, affirmed that he will continue to focus on strengthening the organisation and encouraging the achievement of Kadin Indonesia's work programme in 2024. He is committed to increasing the role of Kadin Indonesia in carrying out the mandate of the Daily Administrators, Regional Kadin Chairmen throughout Indonesia, company members, associations, and all representatives of the business world in Indonesia.

"As a strategic partner of the government as mandated by Law No. 1 of 1987 and Presidential Decree No. 18 of 2022, Kadin Indonesia continues to focus on providing benefits to its members while encouraging the concrete contribution of the private sector to Indonesia's economic growth. I also appreciate the Daily Managers, Regional Kadin Chairmen throughout Indonesia, as well as members of companies and business associations who continue to give me the trust to lead Kadin in giving a positive impact on the national economy," said Arsjad.

Arsjad continued that Kadin Indonesia will also carry out a work programme in 2024 that rests on four main pillars, namely the National Health Backbone, Strengthening the National and Regional Economies, Entrepreneurship and Competence, and Strengthening Organisation and Internal Regulations. The various policies and initiatives initiated support economic growth and social welfare, in line with the achievement of the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045.

"Kadin Indonesia underlines the importance of achieving the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045 as a foundation for Indonesia's future, where Indonesia becomes a developed country as the world's 4th largest economic power and escapes the middle class trap, making Indonesia resilient, prosperous, inclusive and sustainable," said Arsjad.

The Acting Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, explained that with the return of Arsjad Rasjid as Chairman, he will also officially return to his duties as Deputy Chairman of the Coordinator for Organisation, Law and Communication of Kadin Indonesia.

"With this, I officially return the leadership baton to Mr Arsjad Rasjid. With proven dedication and vision, he is ready to lead Kadin Indonesia in bringing innovation and synergy between stakeholders to improve the competitiveness of the business world and contribute to national economic growth. This is a moment for all Kadin Indonesia to reunite to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic progress towards Indonesia Emas 2045," Yukki concluded.

Kadin Indonesia has set 17 priority focuses for the 2021-2026 period and simplified them into 9 strategic programs, including Kadin Cipta, Net Zero Hub, National Capital, Vocational, Economic Digitalisation, Health, Sustainability, Blue Economy, and Job Creation.

Based on the results of the 2023 Kadin National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas), Kadin Indonesia has compiled 147 work programs in 2024 which are broadly focused on improving cross-industry workforce competencies and harmonising industrial relations, collaborative efforts to strengthen competitiveness and HR competency capacity with Kadin Indonesia partners, encouraging MSMEs to "Upgrade" through facilitating increased market access and to use Indonesian products, creating sustainable businesses and encouraging investment, encouraging and facilitating the development of national businesses through organising various activities with other strategic ministries/institutions, conducting policy advocacy in order to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs.
