Jakarta – The Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Task Force of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), in collaboration with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), held a coordination meeting (rakor) with partners of the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) under the Kadin Gotong Royong MBG program. The hybrid meeting took place on Monday, September 29, 2025.
Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, who joined the meeting virtually via video conference, reaffirmed the business sector’s commitment to supporting the sustainability of the program.
Anindya, often referred to as Anin, stated that all field feedback will be recorded, followed up, and aligned with BGN efforts.
“We truly want to deliver the best, particularly in addressing health issues. With proper public outreach, people will understand that the government, BGN, and all stakeholders are genuinely committed to the success of this program,” said Anin.
He further explained that the MBG program has been introduced in various international forums. According to Anin, the initiative has received positive recognition for being implemented through an effective public-private partnership scheme.
“We have promoted MBG abroad, most recently in Canada and the United States. Many parties have expressed admiration for how this program is not only large-scale but also built on a successful public-private collaboration,” he added.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Kadin Gotong Royong MBG Task Force, Chandra Tirta Wijaya, explained that the coordination meeting was held in response to several issues, including food poisoning incidents at certain SPPG units.
Chandra emphasized the need to improve performance and operational standards in every MBG kitchen.
“Our target is zero accidents. Not a single Kadin-affiliated kitchen should face such issues,” he asserted.
He also reminded partners to pay close attention to kitchen hygiene, staff health, and food quality.
“We urge all partners to maintain cleanliness in the kitchens and ensure that all raw ingredients are safe for consumption. BGN considers Kadin’s MBG implementation one of the best practices, so we must ensure the program remains healthy, impactful, and sustainable,” he added.
Separately, Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, underscored the importance of food safety supervision.
He conveyed a directive from President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, requiring that all MBG kitchens employ trained cooks to ensure service quality.
“One of President Prabowo’s instructions is that every SPPG unit must be staffed with trained chefs. We must not allow food that is hazardous or spoiled to be distributed. Rapid food testing is also mandated, as implemented across the SPPG kitchens run by the National Police (Polri),” Dadan emphasized.
Also in attendance at the coordination meeting were Kadin Indonesia Deputy Chairperson for Social Affairs Nita Yudi; Deputy Chairperson for Legal, Human Rights, and Infrastructure Affairs M. Azis Syamsuddin; and Regional Coordinator of the Kadin Gotong Royong MBG Task Force, Desi Arianti.
