The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) OF South Kalimantan established a Competency Test Centre (TUK) affiliated with the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) to support the government's efforts to improve the quality of human resources in the construction services sector in the era of global competition. The KADIN South Kalimantan TUK has been connected and is available on the Ministry of PUPR's Online Single Submission (OSS) application and has begun operating by carrying out the Competency Test for Construction Experts in the field of Level 9 Construction Management Experts or Master Experts, Wednesday (22/11/2023).
"We are very happy with the realisation of one of the South Kalimantan Chamber of Commerce's work programmes, especially with regard to strengthening the competence of the workforce," said Shinta Laksmi Dewi, Chair of the South Kalimantan Chamber of Commerce.
Shinta explained that the presence of this TUK is in line with the work programme of KADIN South Kalimantan, which is a synergy of the Deputy Chairperson (WKU) of PUPR, WKU of Manpower and WKU of Vocational Affairs.
The establishment of TUK is also in line with Government Regulation Number 68 of 2022 concerning the revitalisation of vocational education and training.
"One of KADIN's missions is to improve the quality of labour, and provide solutions to the needs of the labour market, by providing competent and qualified human resources, and increasing the competitiveness of South Kalimantan's workforce in local, regional and national markets," she added.
Shinta further said that the certificate of expertise and skills competence issued by the BNSP system through the cooperation of TUK KADIN South Kalimantan, can validate and measure the ability of the workforce. So that it will increase competitiveness and expand the potential to enter the job market, both at home and abroad.
"Therefore, we invite associations engaged in construction, to utilise this TUK facility, in making Work Competency Certificates," he concluded.
The presence of TUK KADIN Kalsel, is expected to facilitate the construction sector, to standardise the expertise and skills of its workforce, which in turn will increase the competitiveness of the construction business sector in South Kalimantan.
