Kadin and Lemhannas Strengthen National Values, Encourage Businesses to Become a Pillar of Economic Resilience

Jakarta – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), in collaboration with the National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI), held the 121st Collaborative National Values Consolidation Program (PPNK), themed “Building National Self-Reliance Through Astacita to Realize Golden Indonesia 2045,” at the Lemhannas RI building in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (October 6, 2026).

Bambang Soesatyo, Coordinating Deputy Chairman for Political and Security Affairs at Kadin Indonesia, said the PPNK program encourages businesspeople to better understand their position, status, rights, and responsibilities as both entrepreneurs and citizens.

“The main point is how businesspeople can better understand their position, status, responsibilities, and rights as entrepreneurs who are also citizens. This includes how these matters are governed by our Constitution, from its preamble to the provisions on the economy under Article 33,” he said during a briefing session.

According to Bambang, one of the challenges still facing the business community is uncertainty arising from regulatory changes. Although amendments are intended to improve regulations, frequent changes can affect business and investment planning.

“Changes to laws and regulations may be intended to improve the regulatory framework, but for the business community, those changes can instead create uncertainty in business and investment planning,” he said.

Bambang added that such conditions could also influence foreign investors when developing their investment plans in Indonesia. Kadin therefore encourages the government to establish regulations that provide long-term legal certainty.

“This is what we are asking the government to do: establish regulations that provide long-term legal certainty. This issue can also significantly affect foreign investors’ considerations when planning their investments in Indonesia,” he said.

At the same time, Bambang stressed that protecting workers should go hand in hand with protecting business owners. He said businesses also need legal certainty so that they do not become victims of constantly changing regulations.

“Kadin is also considering and seeking to promote not only the protection of workers, but also the protection of business owners against the legal uncertainty we have discussed. They should not become victims of rules that change all the time,” he said.

Meanwhile, Lemhannas RI Governor Ace Hasan Syadzily said the collaboration with Kadin Indonesia, as a platform for the business community, and other institutions demonstrates the synergy between strengthening national values and enhancing the business sector’s role in supporting national economic resilience.

Ace said the program is expected to develop businesspeople with integrity, nationalism, a strong commitment to national interests, and the readiness to address development challenges through capacity building, the exchange of ideas, and a deeper understanding of the country’s interests.

Ace outlined several important considerations for the business community.

First, business progress is determined not only by economic capacity and strength, but also by the quality of human resources, digital literacy, integrity, and national character.

Second, businesses need to continue promoting innovation, productivity, job creation, value addition, and the responsible use of digital technology to strengthen national economic self-reliance.

“And finally, another particularly important priority is to continue strengthening collaboration among the government, business community, society, and all elements of the nation to build an economic ecosystem that is resilient, competitive, and sustainable, while remaining grounded in national values,” Ace said.

The 121st Collaborative National Values Consolidation Program ran from October 6 to 12, 2026, with 105 participants, most of whom were Kadin Indonesia member businesspeople from various regions across the country.
