Kadin Set to Hold Retreat at Magelang Military Academy This August, Participants to Wear Camouflage Uniforms and Fly on Hercules Aircraft

Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), in collaboration with the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), is set to hold the Kadin Retreat 2025 in early August at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java. The retreat is expected to be attended by approximately 150 Kadin leaders, including Chairpersons of regional Kadin chapters across Indonesia.

Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, stated that the retreat is not merely an internal consolidation effort, but also a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening partnerships between the business sector and the government.

According to Anindya—often referred to as Anin—the retreat underscores the vital importance of economic resilience as an integral part of national resilience. He emphasized that national resilience cannot be achieved without economic resilience, especially amid the current global economic uncertainties.

“We aim to reinforce internal consolidation, but also strengthen our strategic partnership with the government. Most importantly, we want to activate the organizational structure of Kadin down to the regency and municipal levels, starting with the provincial chapters,” said Anin.

Anin explained that the retreat will be infused with a strong nationalistic spirit. Participants will wear camouflage uniforms and are expected to travel aboard a Hercules military aircraft.

“The preparations are extraordinary. The uniforms are ready—blue camouflage, similar to the Navy but distinct. Our colleagues in Kadin are also enthusiastic about flying on the Hercules aircraft, and we will be staying in tents,” Anin revealed.

Kadin also hopes that President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, will attend the event to deliver a keynote address. According to Anin, a spirit of resilience and determination is needed among entrepreneurs given the current challenging global economic landscape.

“We at Kadin hope President Prabowo will be able to attend and provide direction, as our entrepreneurs must be ready to persevere. The global economy is no longer in a stable condition. This is why we believe that entrepreneurs are a key pillar—a building block—of national resilience,” Anin stressed.

Furthermore, in the context of national leadership, Kadin observes a shift in the government’s development approach. Anin noted that President Prabowo Subianto is prioritizing the provision of tools and infrastructure rather than direct assistance.

“We recognize that each administration has its own focus. President Prabowo is focusing on providing the fishing rod, not the fish,” Anin explained.

One of the programs aligned with this vision, according to Anin, is the Free Nutritious Meals (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) initiative, which offers significant opportunities for business sector involvement.

“There’s a lot that Kadin can and has already done. We’re working towards establishing 1,000 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG),” said Anin.

While maintaining its role as a strategic partner to the government, Kadin emphasizes that it remains non-budgetary in nature in order to preserve its independence.

Kadin is a platform for the business community, but it is non-budgetary. And we appreciate that, as it allows us to remain independent while still engaging in strategic collaboration with the government,” Anin concluded.
