Perluas Pasar Ekspor, Rantai Pasok Regional Perlu Diperkuat

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is encouraging the government to continue expanding regional supply chains in order to strengthen Indonesia's role as a major player in the global supply chain.

‘For example, in ASEAN, Indonesia is the largest. On this side, Indonesia can play a role in strengthening the regional supply chain. After the regional supply chain is strengthened, it is connected to the global supply chain, and it becomes very powerful,’ said Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid on the sidelines of the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF MSP) at the Bali International Convention Centre, Tuesday (3/9/2024).

By strengthening its role in the supply chain, Indonesia can anticipate trade dynamics and supply chain changes. He gave an example, when there was a trade war between the United States and China, which also put pressure on world trade.

According to Arsjad, Indonesia must be able to take opportunities from these conditions. Not only the political stance that runs freely active, but trade relations must also be carried out freely active.

‘In the future, we can have a very strategic position and can supply to two supply chains and this is the key word for Indonesia's supply chain in the future,’ explained Arsjad.

He said, to strengthen trade performance, Indonesia must also explore non-traditional countries, especially African countries that are in the trend of high economic growth. In this case, the government can connect supply chains in Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia with non-traditional markets, such as countries in the African region.

‘These things are very important for Indonesia to see that the market is not only the market we have now, but we still have to open up to potential markets,’ concluded Arsjad.
