Langsa, Aceh – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Aceh Provincial Chapter is pushing for stronger coordination within the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) down to the regency/city level, while accelerating the development of the local production sector as a long-term strategy to maintain price stability in Aceh.

This was conveyed by the Executive Director of Kadin Aceh, Teuku Jailani, who attended on behalf of the Chairperson of Kadin Aceh, Muhammad Iqbal Piyeung, at the TPID and Regional Digitalization Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD) High-Level Meeting. The event, themed "Synergy in Inflation Control and Financial Digitalization for the Acceleration of Aceh's Post-Disaster Economic Recovery," was held at the Harmoni Hotel, Langsa, Aceh, on Monday (06/07/2026).

Teuku stated that successful inflation control cannot rely solely on ceremonial coordination forums. What is more critical is active, structured, and continuous communication among stakeholders so that every policy can be mutually supportive.

"Collaboration will only be effective if it is built upon strong coordination and a smooth flow of information, spanning from planning to anticipatory measures on the ground," he said.

Teuku also assessed that the institutional structure of regional TPIDs needs to be reinforced by involving local governments, Bank Indonesia, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), region-owned enterprises (BUMD), business players, and regency/city chapters of Kadin. This synergy is viewed as vital to accelerating responses to potential price volatility of basic commodities.

"In addition to strengthening coordination, Kadin Aceh believes that increasing local production capacity is a strategic step to curb inflation," Teuku said.

Thus far, Teuku continued, commodities such as chicken eggs and chicken meat remain dependent on supplies from outside Aceh, making them vulnerable to rising distribution and logistics costs.

"Inflation escalates further when disasters occur, leading to disruptions in road and bridge infrastructure," Teuku noted.

Furthermore, Teuku explained that Aceh's geographical position, which is relatively far from national production centers, results in higher transportation costs that directly impact consumer prices. Therefore, Aceh needs to accelerate the development of its poultry farming industry for both layer and broiler chickens so that public demand can be met by local production.

He believes that strengthening the production sector will shorten supply chains, enhance food security, maintain price stability, and unlock new investment opportunities and jobs. Kadin Aceh stands ready to serve as a strategic partner to the government in boosting investment, distribution, trade, and the development of productive sectors.

"Controlling inflation cannot be achieved through short-term interventions alone. The regional economic foundation must be reinforced by expanding production capacity so that price stability can be maintained while driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth," Teuku concluded.
