South Kalimantan Kadin Holds Its 3rd Provincial Leadership Meeting, Emphasizes the Private Sector’s Role in Strengthening the Regional Economy

Banjarmasin - The South Kalimantan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Kalsel) held its 3rd Provincial Leadership Meeting (Rapimprov III), carrying the theme “Strategies & the Role of the Private Sector in Increasing Regional Revenue (PAD) Toward Strengthening South Kalimantan’s Economic Resilience.” The event took place at the Galaxy Hotel Banjarmasin on Tuesday (18/11/2025).

Andi Yuslim Patawari, Kadin Indonesia’s Deputy Chairperson for the Kalimantan Region, who attended the event on behalf of Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie, said he hoped Rapimprov III would serve as an acceleration platform for Kadin Indonesia’s programs implemented at the provincial, city, and regency levels.

“We hope this activity will generate strong synergy with the government, various sectors, and our extraordinary members, including MSMEs and universities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Widiyanto Saputro, Kadin Indonesia’s Deputy Chairperson for Membership, emphasized that the central government’s target of achieving 8 percent national economic growth is being fully supported by Kadin chapters across the country, including South Kalimantan.

“At the micro level, economic growth should reach at least 5.4 percent. Currently, it stands at 5.04 percent with an average growth rate of 4.9 percent,” Widiyanto noted.

South Kalimantan Kadin Chairperson Shinta Laksmi Dewi expressed her appreciation to the South Kalimantan Provincial Government for providing collaborative space for Kadin.

“We are grateful to the provincial government for the trust and opportunities given to Kadin to contribute in various strategic positions within the regional economic ecosystem. Alhamdulillah, Kadin has been entrusted to serve as Deputy Chair of the Regional Vocational Team, a member of KADEX Kalsel, and to lead the Regional Advocacy Commission (KAD) together with the Anti-Corruption Task Force of Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This is a significant mandate to ensure a healthy, transparent, and integrity-driven business environment,” Shinta said.

Shinta also highlighted the economic challenges projected for 2025, emphasizing the importance of vocational education as a strategy to alleviate poverty and improve workforce quality.

“Vocational education is the best way to empower communities. When strengthened and supported by government social assistance, vulnerable groups can transition into productive communities—not only in entrepreneurship but also in knowledge, skills, and economic competitiveness,” she explained.

During Rapimprov III, Kadin Kalsel officially received a land grant from the South Kalimantan Provincial Government for the construction of a new Kadin building located within the provincial government office complex. The groundbreaking was symbolically marked through a digital launch.

The event also featured the signing of several memorandums of understanding between Kadin Kalsel and industry players, including PT Sinar Nusantara Industries, PT Citicon Nusantara Industries, PT Conch South Cement Kalimantan, and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI).

These collaborations reaffirm the business sector’s commitment to strengthening the regional supply chain, providing quality building materials, expanding MSME empowerment, and supporting greater efficiency in the construction industry across South Kalimantan.

Kadin Kalsel also officially launched its innovation platform, LockerSpace, a 24/7 digital job-market application designed to improve workforce competency and broaden access to employment opportunities.
