Muprov VIII Kadin Papua, Anindya Bakrie Soroti Potensi SDA Papua dalam Pengembangan Energi Baru Terbarukan

Jayapura – The Papua Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Papua) held its 8th Provincial Conference (Musyawarah Provinsi/Muprov VIII) under the theme “United, Growing, and Competitive” at the Papua Governor’s Office Hall in Jayapura, Papua, on Saturday (April 11, 2026).

During the conference, Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Novyan Bakrie officially inaugurated and confirmed Jacleana Joku as Chairwoman of Kadin Papua for the 2026–2031 term, succeeding Ronald Antonio.

In his remarks, Anindya—commonly known as Anin—stated that Papua possesses abundant natural resources, ranging from mining to forestry and marine sectors, which have not yet been fully optimized.

“These potentials are not only limited to commodities such as gold and copper, but also include the marine and fisheries sectors, which can serve as sustainable sources of economic growth,” Anin said.

According to him, Papua also holds significant opportunities in the development of renewable energy, particularly solar and hydropower, given its geographical conditions that support clean energy utilization.

Papua, he added, also has strong potential to enhance national food security through the utilization of vast agricultural land and the development of local commodities.

On the other hand, Papua’s strategic geographical position in eastern Indonesia offers opportunities to serve as a gateway for trade to the Pacific region.

“Therefore, strengthening infrastructure and improving logistics efficiency are key to optimizing these potentials so they can be well integrated,” he said.

Anin expressed confidence that Papua can make a significant contribution to more inclusive and equitable national economic growth, supported by improved infrastructure and logistics.

Meanwhile, Papua Governor Mathius D. Fakhiri, who was also present, emphasized that all incoming investments must deliver tangible benefits to the local community, create jobs, and improve public welfare.

“Papua needs impactful investment, not merely profit-taking without real contributions to the region,” he said.

Mathius expressed hope that Kadin Papua will continue to serve as a strategic partner to the government, strengthen MSME empowerment—particularly for indigenous Papuan entrepreneurs—and build a healthy, competitive, and sustainable economic ecosystem.

“With the spirit of unity, growth, and competitiveness, we are optimistic that Papua will continue progressing toward becoming an advanced, self-reliant, and prosperous region,” he concluded.

Also present at the event was Kadin Indonesia Vice Chairman for Organization Taufan Eko Nugroho.
