Yogyakarta – Vice Chairman for International Relations of the Central Java Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Central Java), Bernardus Arwin, conducted a working visit to the Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin DIY) in Yogyakarta on Wednesday (April 29, 2026). The visit was received by Vice Chairman for Organization and Membership of Kadin DIY, Robby Kusumaharta, along with the board members, as a strategic step to strengthen interregional economic connectivity.
During the meeting, Arwin emphasized that the synergy between Kadin Central Java and Kadin DIY represents a concrete effort to align regional economic empowerment visions, particularly in encouraging businesses to penetrate international markets.
One of the key agendas discussed was the optimization of strategic spaces at Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) and Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang as showcases for leading regional products.
“We want airports not only to serve as transit hubs, but also as windows for the region’s best products. By optimizing strategic spaces as showcases, we can increase exposure to global markets while accelerating exports,” said Arwin.
In addition, strengthening human resource capacity was highlighted as a top priority. Both parties agreed that improving workforce competencies—including the provision of skilled professionals such as Mandarin translators—is an urgent necessity in responding to the evolving dynamics of global investment.
“The flow of technology and investment continues to grow, so human resource readiness is key. We are focusing on enhancing competencies so that the industrial sector can move up the value chain and achieve global competitiveness,” he added.
Meanwhile, Robby Kusumaharta welcomed the collaboration initiative. He emphasized that future cooperation will also focus on strengthening the Joglosemar (Yogyakarta–Solo–Semarang) area as an integrated tourism and creative industry ecosystem.
“This synergy is aimed at increasing the length of stay of tourists, thereby creating a significant economic multiplier effect that is directly felt by communities in Central Java and Yogyakarta,” Robby explained.
As a follow-up, both parties committed to forming a joint team to structurally integrate each region’s potential and core competencies. This initiative is expected to serve as a bridge for businesses to grow and expand their networks within an inclusive, collaborative, and sustainable economic ecosystem.
“Interregional collaboration is a vital foundation for strengthening the national economy. This reflects a shared spirit of progress in building resilient regional economies toward a more advanced Indonesia,” Robby concluded.
