Ankara – Head of the Sharia Economy and Finance Development Agency of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), Titi Khoiriah, underscored the vital role of chambers of commerce in strengthening the capacity and market access of young and women entrepreneurs. She delivered the remarks during a panel discussion titled "Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Young and Women Entrepreneurs", organized by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) in Ankara, Türkiye, on June 29, 2026.
Titi explained that chambers of commerce have four key priorities in fostering business development. The first is expanding access to international markets through trade missions and digital commerce.
"Our second priority is to develop leadership and executive education for entrepreneurs so they can compete on the global stage. Why is this important? Enhancing entrepreneurs' capabilities, professionalism, and ability to identify international market opportunities forms the foundation for sustainable business growth," Titi said.
She further noted that chambers of commerce also play a crucial role in facilitating access to investment and financing by connecting entrepreneurs with banks, microfinance institutions, and institutional investors.
"Our fourth priority is to promote data-driven policymaking while strengthening membership services, business incubation, and mentoring programs for entrepreneurs, particularly women," she added.
Titi emphasized that empowering women through entrepreneurship generates significant economic benefits. Women who succeed in building businesses not only create prosperity for themselves but also generate employment, increase investment, and strengthen economic resilience.
"When women become successful entrepreneurs, they are able to build wealth, make financial investments, create jobs, unlock opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to economic resilience and growth," Titi said.
She added that women are among the key drivers of economic transformation. Therefore, organizations such as the ICCD play a strategic role by serving as platforms that connect women entrepreneurs with international business networks and provide broader access to global markets.
On the occasion, Titi also shared her professional experience as President Director and Independent Commissioner of Bank Banten, a regional government-owned bank. According to her, the experience reinforced the importance of access to business networks and financing in expanding business opportunities.
However, she acknowledged that many young entrepreneurs—particularly women—continue to face challenges in obtaining financing due to limited business scale and insufficient assets.
"This is where chambers of commerce play a critical role: promoting women entrepreneurs to global business networks, opening access to international markets, and expanding their access to financing," Titi concluded.
Also attending the event was Andi Anzhar Cakra Wijaya, Vice Chairman for Multilateral Diplomacy at Kadin Indonesia.
