Kadin Chairman Meets Finance Minister to Discuss Synergy Between Business Sector and Government in Driving Economic Growth

Jakarta - Anindya Novyan Bakrie, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), held a meeting with Indonesia’s Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, at the Ministry of Finance in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (21/10/2025).

The discussion focused on strategic measures to strengthen synergy between the business sector and the government in driving national economic growth.

“Minister Purbaya welcomed the discussion and mentioned that sector-by-sector follow-up meetings will be held at Kadin. This is very valuable for us,” said Anindya, also known as “Anin,” after the meeting.

Anin noted that one of the key topics was the efficient allocation of regional funds and the role of businesses in stimulating local economies. He revealed that around IDR 200 trillion had been transferred from Bank Indonesia to Himbara (State-Owned Banks Association), and emphasized that regional entrepreneurs must take concrete steps to ensure these funds translate into real economic growth.

“Last weekend, I visited Papua, covering four of its six provinces. Local officials expressed that alongside efficient fund management, entrepreneurs and provincial leaders need to work together to keep the economy moving—through investment and inter-island trade,” Anin explained.

In addition to investment, Anin highlighted the potential of government programs such as the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) initiative and the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives to promote inclusive economic growth and create new jobs.

“Even with fund efficiency in the regions, programs like Free Nutritious Meals and the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives continue. At the same time, investment is growing and trade is expanding with new markets opening in Canada and other countries,” he said.

Anin added that Indonesia’s exports are still dominated by products such as footwear, garments, textiles, electronics, and furniture, but the opening of new markets is expected to further increase export capacity.

“So, in my view, economic growth is likely to improve compared to before. We just need to monitor the scale of the impact,” Anin concluded.
