Surabaya - Kadin East Java held a sacrificial animal slaughtering and distribution program at Graha Kadin East Java on Wednesday (May 27, 2026).
For this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration, Kadin East Java received a total of eight cows and 18 goats as sacrificial animals. The donations came from Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie, as well as contributions from Kadin East Java executives, who collectively supported the annual charitable initiative.
Chairman of the organizing committee and Executive Director of Kadin East Java, Heru Pramono, stated that Eid al-Adha carries a much broader meaning than merely being an annual religious observance. According to him, the qurban ritual serves as a means of strengthening humanitarian values, social solidarity, and concern for those in need.
“Eid al-Adha should not only be viewed as an act of worship, but also as an opportunity to strengthen social ties and deliver tangible benefits to communities in need,” Heru said.
The sacrificial meat was distributed through 1,750 coupons. Beneficiaries included residents living around Graha Kadin East Java, underprivileged families, orphanages, and Islamic boarding schools across Surabaya. The distribution process was carried out in an orderly manner to ensure that the benefits of the qurban reached as many people as possible.
Heru emphasized that the involvement of the business community in social initiatives such as qurban reflects the moral responsibility of entrepreneurs toward society. He noted that economic growth should go hand in hand with social concern so that the benefits of development can be enjoyed more equitably.
“Through this activity, we hope to foster a stronger spirit of mutual cooperation and social solidarity within both the community and the business sector,” he said.
Heru further added that qurban activities provide an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between businesses and the community. The role of the business sector, he said, should not be measured solely by its economic contributions, but also by the extent to which it creates meaningful social impact.
For Kadin East Java, Heru continued, the annual qurban program is not merely an organizational tradition but also a reflection of the chamber’s commitment to remaining actively engaged with the community. The spirit of sharing promoted through Eid al-Adha is expected to reinforce social solidarity, particularly amid ongoing economic challenges.
“Let us make Eid al-Adha a manifestation of compassion, a moment to share wholeheartedly, and an opportunity to strengthen our unity in doing good,” Heru concluded.
