Bandar Lampung - The Lampung Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Lampung) and the Central Java Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Central Java) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Governors’ Courtesy Dinner of Lampung and Central Java, alongside the signing of an inter-provincial cooperation agreement between the Provincial Governments of Lampung and Central Java. The event was held at the Official Residence of the Governor of Lampung, Mahan Agung, in Bandar Lampung, on Tuesday evening (January 6, 2026).
The MoU covers trade cooperation for a wide range of commodities, including salt, sugar, coconuts, elephant ginger, rice, fruits, cardamom, cassava, tapioca flour, handicraft products, shrimp, and cattle.
Chairman of Kadin Lampung, Muhammad Kadafi, expressed optimism that this cooperation would strengthen inter-regional connectivity and have a positive impact on trade development, thereby fostering economic growth in each region, particularly in Lampung and Central Java.
“This cooperation will also stimulate the investment sector. When we establish strong collaboration, it will support the creation of new sources of economic growth,” Kadafi said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Kadin Central Java, Harry Nuryanto Soediro, emphasized that the MoU is not merely a formal document, but a business roadmap for entrepreneurs in both provinces.
“This inter-provincial Kadin cooperation will accelerate the emergence of a new, inclusive, and sustainable economy. We are ready to serve as the main bridge for Central Java’s MSMEs to access the Lampung market, while also opening investment and technology opportunities from Lampung to Central Java,” Harry stated.
At the same event, the Provincial Government of Lampung and the Provincial Government of Central Java agreed on eleven cross-sector cooperation initiatives with a total transaction value of up to IDR 832.3 billion per year. The agreements were signed directly by Governor of Lampung Rahmat Mirzani Djausal and Governor of Central Java Ahmad Luthfi.
The eleven areas of cooperation include strengthening vocational education at the vocational high school (SMK) level; facilitation of industrial and trade sector development; cooperation in natural gas utilization and the development of new and renewable energy; capacity building for agricultural, plantation, livestock, maritime, and fisheries institutions; development of religious tourism and marine tourism (Pahawang Island and the Karimunjawa Islands); trade cooperation in commodity supply; provision of food commodities derived from agriculture and plantations; cooperation in the supply of tapioca flour raw materials; industrial and trade supply chain partnerships (covering crystal sugar, cassava, coffee, and onions); as well as multi-commodity trade cooperation and food supply from agricultural and plantation products.
